Milwaukee might not be on the ocean, but we do have a beautiful river filled with seafood galore and plenty of other delicious dishes that just taste better when dining on the water. Get outside, grab a drink, and breathe in the last days of summer while you check out these nine restaurants right on the river!
1. Screaming Tuna
This sushi spot on the river is one of the best in the 414! The atmosphere is relaxed and the staff is always friendly. They offer boatloads of sushi as well as by-the-roll options. Screaming Tuna also has an incredible brunch, which you might not expect from a sushi spot! There is plenty of seating right on the river, so you can enjoy MKE summers for all that they are, right here at Screaming Tuna.
Screaming Tuna is located at 106 W Seeboth St., Milwaukee.
2. Water Buffalo
Water Buffalo is not-so-coincidentally located right on cross street of Water and Buffalo. This riverside restaurant is a dining experience that you really must have to understand how excellent it is. Their meals are on the pricier side, but definitely worth it - especially for special occasions. Everything on the menu is mouth-wateringly delicious, and they offer an extensive list of hand-crafted cocktails. This is a great date spot if you're looking to impress!
Water Buffalo is located at 249 N Water St., Milwaukee.
3. The Love Shack
This Polynesian tiki bar is one of the newest additions to Milwaukee's riverfront. Located next to Screaming Tuna in the 5th ward, The Love Shack is bringing in a lot of business - and for good reason! The fun decor and unique tropical drinks offer an experience unlike any other. You might even find some hula dancers out on the riverfront!

4. Sail Loft
This Third Ward seafood restaurant is right at the end of Erie street. Their outdoor bar seating offers the perfect environment for a date on the river! Enjoy oysters, mussels, and calamari as you watch the sun set over the river. Sail Loft is a great pick for any night of the week.

5. Milwaukee Ale House
The Ale House is a go-to river spot! They offer two different floors of riverside dining. You can catch live music several nights a week as you sip on a cold beer from their list of house-brewed ales and lagers. This is one of Milwaukee's most popular nightlife spots.
Milwaukee Ale House is located at 233 N Water St., Milwaukee.
6. Rock Bottom Brewery
Rock Bottom Brewery might be a chain, but we're lucky that our location sits right on the river! Rock Bottom is a solid spot for a good brew and even better views. Stop in and stay awhile! This is a great place to kick back with friends and enjoy some solid bar food.
Rock Bottom Brewery is located at 740 N Plankinton Ave., Milwaukee.

Pier 106 is a seafood spot right on the river! This is a great place to get your fill of seafood while relaxing on the patio with a gorgeous view. We recommend the stuffed salmon, but their whole menu is delicious.
