Aruba, Jamaica…Wisconsin? Yah man, islands be here. They might not quite be the warm, sandy, tropical ones you are thinking of, but we have them. Here are 10 you should know about.
1. Washington Island

5. Bear Island
This island is so named because when you look at it just right, it looks like a bear. Looking at this photo, the head is to the right and the body is to the left. (We kinda see it). Also, this island is home to actual bears. If you didn't know, bears are strong swimmers, so don't think hopping into the water will get you out of a jam if you get too close to one of these guys.
6. Stockton Island
Stockton Island is the largest island in the Apostle Islands. It is home to 14 miles of hiking trails. You can arrive here via boat, and stay at one of the campsites.

This island is located in Lake Michigan off the tip of the Door Peninsula. The only transportation is via ferry. Hiking trails and camping are available.
8. Plum Island
Plum Island finally became open to the public this past May. It is home to double–crested cormorants, herons, great egrets and gull. There are also deer and coyotes.
9. Pilot Island
Pilot Island is located off of Gills Rock in Door County. It is home to the Pilot Island Lighthouse, which is constructed out of brick.
10. York Island
This island is also part of the group of the Apostle Islands. There are three campsites up here for you to stay at, all along the north side of the island.
