If you’ve only ever gone to East Troy to see a concert at Alpine Valley, you’re missing out on a quaint small town full of historic buildings and local businesses. The city has undergone some major revitalization in recent years and you’d hardly recognize it. The downtown square is almost always full of folks these days in large part because of the addition of East Troy Brewery. Housed in a historic bank building dating back to 1892 and owned by a couple who are well-entrenched in the community, this new brewpub is a must-try destination for anyone in Southeastern Wisconsin.
East Troy Brewery was the brainchild of an East Troy couple who knew this location was perfect for a brewpub.
Incredibly involved with the local community, they wanted to create a gathering place that made use of this gorgeous historic building and became a center of a new downtown area.
They've done research and gathered photos and information about the building.
You'll find all kinds of great history lining the walls at the brewery. This new brewpub really embraces the mix of old and new.
You'll fall in love with this place.
Not only are they serving up delicious beers and food, but it's a cozy, welcoming spot that you'll feel like returning to again and again.
East Troy Brewery is all about collaboration.
That means working with other brewers and breweries, but it also means sourcing products from their neighbors. From decorations to the ingredients in the menu and beer, the brewery is focused on local connections and sharing.
They're already talking about public collaborations and beer-making classes with the opportunity for those beers to end up on the menu.
It's really a unique and wonderful way to go about your business.
This place does a fabulous job of melding history with the present.
You'll find bits from the old bank and other historically accurate details here.
But you'll also find a state-of-the-art brewing system, much of which is automated. You will literally be able to watch the beer-making process happen as you sit and sip.
Bits of the building's old life are everywhere, from the gorgeous light brick walls to the vault that's practically untouched.
The bar sits where the teller's windows were and some of the old metalwork details remain.
The attention to detail here is awesome and you'll want to spend time uncovering all the fun gems.
From historic pictures on the walls to a penny-encrusted floor in the vault, this place has embraced the backstory of the building and done a spectacular job giving it new life.
Being as young as the brewery is, things are still changing and adapting here.
They're incredibly open to feedback and you can tell that the goal here is to create a place where locals gather. It's not going to surprise anyone when this becomes the go-to place in town. With an eye on the past and a desire to be a part of the town's future, East Troy Brewery is creating an amazing community hangout you're going to want to check out.
