When I wanted to go sledding in Wisconsin, there was one hill in town and the ride down wasn’t too far. It wasn’t until later that I realized that not all Wisconsin is as flat as where I was living. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I’m sharing some photos of some real Wisconsin hills:
1. Maiden Rock Bluff State Nature Area
This shot by Stockholm by the Mississippi River is breathtaking.
2. Trempealeau Bluff
This bluff is surrounded by the Mississippi, Pine and Trempealeau rivers.
3. Baraboo Range Bluff
This part of Wisconsin is full of bluffs and epic views.
4. Trenton Bluff Prairie
Not only is this a wonderful bluff, but it is also one of the best prairies in Wisconsin.
5. Pleasant Valley Conservancy
This nature preserve in Dane County can be surveyed by hikers.
6. Battle Bluff Prairie
With a height of 480 feet, you can see many miles south down the Mississippi River.
7. East Bluff, Devil's Lake
What's really unique about this place is the "miniature forest" on top of the hill.
8. Limery Ridge Savanna
This beautiful, undeveloped bluffs are located right in the middle of a major migratory path, making bird watching phenomenal.
9. Arena Hill
This hill might not be the largest, but this shot is still gorgeous.
Well, I could definitely do the sledding of my life down these. And end up in the hospital.
