How lucky are we that Wisconsin has acres and acres of state parks that protect some of the most gorgeous land? We also have hundreds of amazing restaurants to discover and enjoy. And there’s a path through Mirror Lake State Park that combines two of these most fabulous parts of our amazing state. You’ve probably seen pictures of the fabulous Ishnala Supper Club in the Wisconsin Dells. The gorgeous old wood building peeks out of the forest like it belongs there and sits proudly looking out over the lake. It’s the most beautiful restaurant in the state with the most amazing setting and you can actually hike there.
Mirror Lake State Park is more than 2,000 acres and is home to a lake so still at times that not even a ripple mars the surface. This park is a gorgeous microcosm of what makes this area of the state so awesome, with towering sandstone cliffs. But this park is also amazing for the man-made structures it holds.
Mirror Lake State Park has a Frank Lloyd Wright-designed cottage you can rent as well as the Ishnala Supper Club. If you're looking for a perfect Wisconsin day, plan a hike through the park that will take you right up to the Ishnala and then settle in for a fabulous supper club experience.
The Ishnala Trail is 2.2 miles long and takes you through the forest and along Mirror Lake for some gorgeous views. It's a stunning way to see the park.
Near the end, you'll approach the Supper Club and you'll see it peeking through the trees, looking out for one of the best restaurant views in the state.
You've never had a meal like the one you can have here. Everything about the place is stunning and it all sort of seamlessly melts into the surrounding forest. You can sit out front and enjoy the flowers or head out back and go down to the lake for more seating after the meal.
