As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
You’d be hard-pressed to find another vacation rental like Seth Peterson Cottage. That’s not an opinion. It’s a fact. You see, it was the first, and now one of the few, Frank Lloyd Wright-designed homes available for overnight rentals. Yep, you can actually spend the night! Of course, that’s not the only way you can get a glimpse of the famous abode. Take a look:
The Seth Peterson Cottage is nestled within the woods of Mirror Lake State Park.
Wright was most known for his ability to bring the outdoors in – and at the cottage, that concept is brought to life via stone walls and floors and tons of wood features.
All cottage rentals include canoes and paddles, making it easy to take advantage of the park’s centerpiece lake. The park also offers hiking, biking, swimming, boating, fishing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling.
Luckily, you don’t have to be an overnight guest to visit the Seth Peterson Cottage. Tours are offered the second Sunday of each month.
Please note, because of COVID-19 and social distancing requirements, tours are limited to exterior viewing only. On the plus side, you can tour the exterior of the home for FREE.
For more information on the cottage, call the Seth Peterson Cottage Conservancy at (877) 466-2358. You can also visit the conservancy’swebsite or Facebook page. Ready to make reservations? Check out the Sand County Vacation Rentals website.
