Wisconsin is known for cows and cheese…and some pretty scary murderers. We’ve certainly had our fair share. Here are 8 Wisconsin homicides that will never be forgotten.
1. Jeffrey Dahmer
Dahmer dismembered and murdered at least 17 boys and men.
2. Walter E. Ellis
Ellis, known as the Milwaukee North Side Strangler, raped and strangled at least 7 women.
3. Edward Wayne Edwards
Edwards killed at least 5 and is suspected of many other murders. It is also possible that he was the Zodiac killer--although that has not been proven.
4. Christopher Scarver
Scarver was a disgruntled employee who shot his supervisor. But he is most famous for beating Jeffrey Dahmer to death in prison.
5. John McCaffary
McCaffary killed his wife. But that's not why this murder is famous. McCaffary was the first person executed in Wisconsin for a crime.
6. Chai Vang
Vang shot eight people while on a hunting trip in northern Wisconsin.
7. Terry Ratzmann
Ratzmann was a cult leader who killed seven members of his "Living Church of God," before committing suicide.
8. Radcliffe Haughton
Haughton, the estranged husband of an employee of the Azana Spa, opened fire at the spa in 2012, killing four people.
Well, these were sufficiently scary!
