There’s something so amazing about getting to look out from on high to see all the amazing fall colors taking over Wisconsin at this time of the year. We don’t have much in the way of mountains here in the Dairy State, but up in Wausau, you can find one of the taller points atop Rib Mountain. The highest point is just under 2,000 feet and there’s a state park with an observation tower that gives you sweeping views of the Wisconsin River valley down below. While you’re here, definitely take advantage of the views from the park, but the best reason to come to Rib Mountain in the fall is to take the Granite Peak Ski Area chair lift up the mountain.
