Tetzner's Dairy Farm is locaed in Washburn, pop. 2,100. Washburn is a city in Bayfield County that’s located right on Lake Superior's Chequamegon Bay. It’s in the far northern reaches of Wisconsin, about 70 miles east of the city of Superior or three hours northwest of Wausau.
The area is a Mecca for vacationers – it’s an ideal place for boating, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, and hiking. But there’s one delicious reason to visit Washburn.
Tetzner's Dairy Farm is located about a mile from the Lake Superior shore. This forested region is not exactly known as dairy country, so you might be surprised to see a thriving farming outpost.
Tetzner's has been producing high quality dairy products here for a very long time. The farm is a family operation dating back to 1891. The 600-acre farm is home to 100 very productive cows.
The farm has a store that sells all the favorites, including milk, ice cream, and cheese curds. Bring cash – it sells on the honor system. Customers place their money in envelopes and leave them in a box.
The farm is very trusting, but so far no one has stolen any milk or ice cream. The milk and dairy products are incredibly fresh – visit Tetzner’s and taste the difference!
Learn more about the business on the farm’s website. If you’re still hungry for great Wisconsin ice cream, take a trip on this special ice cream trail.
