There’s nothing we Wisconsinites love more than celebrating our few months of outdoor freedom. We only get a few precious months of warm weather and we take advantage to the fullest extent. We love getting outside and soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the fresh air after being cooped up inside all winter. We also love the Northwoods. Camping, cabins, fishing and getting away from it all are pretty much the best things we can think of. There’s a spot in Madison that embraces all of this and has created pretty much the perfect Wisconsin bar and restaurant.
Camp Trippalindee is located on the top floor of the Graduate Hotel in Madison and it's basically the best amalgam of "Up North" living, kitschy decor, nostalgia, delicious food and drinks and killer views.
One of the best ways to enjoy Madison is to get up on a rooftop. The city on an isthmus offers some pretty stellar views in all directions, so getting up and over the buildings is always a good idea.
The food is simple but delicious. These are familiar flavors done right and they're the exact kind of filling comfort foods you'd want to enjoy in a spot that feels like a mix between your neighbor's cabin and your grandma's basement.
As The Graduate is pet friendly, so is this awesome space. I can't imagine a more wonderful way to spend a day than on a rooftop with your best friend, making s'mores, honestly.
... to delicious cocktails, Camp Trippalindee is a unique combination of trendy bar with amazing cocktails and the bar in your grandparents' basement with liquor bottles older than you are. And somehow that totally works.
We sometimes say to kick your feet up and enjoy a spot, but that's a literal imperative here. I mean, keep your shoes on, but otherwise, let all your stress melt away in a spot that feels so cozy you'll wonder why you ever leave.
Camp Trippalindee manages to create and capture the perfect atmosphere and nostalgia here and it doesn't feel gimmicky. It's just fun and comfortable and that rooftop patio is like the backyard you always wish you had.
