Wisconsin's Iconic Boat-Shaped Home Is Now On AirBnB

The Edmund B. Gustorf Boat House is one of Milwaukee’s most recognizable sights. Of course, it’s pretty hard to forget a boat-shaped house that’s perched on a grassy lawn in a quiet neighborhood. And while many are familiar with the unique abode, there’s one thing about it that most are completely unaware of — it’s now a B&B! Take a look:

Known by locals simply as *the boathouse*, the Edmund B. Gustorf House can be found in the heart of Milwaukee’s East Side.

Basically a Milwaukee institution, the 70-foot boat-shaped home — complete with a lighthouse — has been stopping passersby in their tracks since the 1920s.

The unique home is the brainchild of traveling salesman Edmund B. Gustorf, who described the nautically-themed abode as a *yacht-bungalow*.

Even though the boathouse has been wowing Milwaukee locals and tourists for quite some time, it hasn’t been open to the public for decades — until now, that is.

Since February 2019, the iconic home has been listed on Airbnb. That’s right; you can stay overnight in the conspicuous abode.

Surprisingly spacious, the 550-square-foot home features two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a kitchen, living room, and dining area.

With two queen beds and two single beds, the boathouse can sleep up to 6.

And while the vessel has never been on the water, guests will quickly forget that thanks to tons of nautical nods, like porthole windows and walls adorned with maps.
