El Zarco is located in Bayfield County, in the far north of Wisconsin. It’s a place that sees plenty of snow and cold weather – but it’s always warm and sunny at El Zarco!
The restaurant is located in the unincorporated community of Grand View. The area is surrounded by the largest forest in Wisconsin, the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest. It’s just north of the Porcupine Lakes Wilderness.
The restaurant specializes in fresh homemade Mexican cuisine. The menu includes all the classics, including flautas, quesadillas, tortas, and tostadas.
Taco lovers will find themselves right at home. This may be the land of logging roads, but the restaurant's “street tacos” are as delicious as anything you might find in an urban taco stand. Choose your meat – marinated chicken or beef, ground beef or lengua, topped with a bit of cilantro, onion, and lime. Delicious!
You might go for a Mexican coke, but there’s also a well-stocked cantina. Choose from a big selection of tequila and Mexican beer or an awesome handcrafted margarita!
The restaurant is closed some days and hours vary – see the current hours here. There’s free WiFi, so if your phone is taking a Northwoods vacation from service, it’s a good place to get back online. If you love great Mexican food, here are some more spicy and delicious dining spots.
