It may be hard to believe, but the start of fall is just weeks away. And there’s no better way to kick off the season than with a visit to Basse’s Taste of Country. Though open throughout the seasons, fall is the best time to visit since it’s when the farm hosts its annual Pumpkin Fest. And while the event does include hoards of gourds, it offers so much more. Take a look:
Located in Colgate, Basse’s Taste of County is a family-owned farm that, after one visit, is sure to become a family favorite.
But it’s when summer fades into fall that things really get good at Basse’s – and that’s because it’s when the farm puts on Pumpkin Fest, its annual fall celebration.
During Pumpkin Fest, festival-goers can explore Basse’s Happy Jacks Pumpkin Land, which is brimming with pumpkins and gourds in practically every size, shape, and color imaginable.
In addition to already-picked gourds, there’s a pick-your-own pumpkin patch, so finding the perfect pumpkin – whatever your needs – shouldn’t be an issue.
Remember how we said there’s something for everyone at Basse’s? Well, we meant it – and we think the fact that there’s a beer barn on the premises proves it. In addition to beer, of-age visitors can head into the barn to sip some cider.
The photo-ops at Basse’s are nearly as abundant as the opportunities for fun. From a giant rocking chair and family-sized swing to the array of festive photo-ops scattered around the farm, you’ll definitely want to have a camera handy during your visit.
Remember, Pumpkin Fest takes place daily from September 19th thru October 31st. On weekdays, it’s open from 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m., and on weekends, it’s open 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Keep in mind that Basse’s has gone cashless, which means payments must be made with a credit or debit card. Additionally, Basse’s accepts most digital, contactless payment methods, such as Apple Pay. For more information, call (262) 628-2626. You can also check out the Basse’s Taste of Country website or Facebook page.
