Have you ever wondered what Wisconsin looks like from outer space? Well, wonder no more! We did some digging around and came across some interesting photos that show the Badger State in a whole new way. 1. Several years ago, increased demand for round and durable sand led to a mining boom in Wisconsin - it also led to this amazing up-high capture.

2. Captured by a NASA satellite on June 9, 2007, this image depicts the immense damage caused by a series of tornadoes that struck Wisconsin on June 7th of that same year.

See the diagonal line near the center of the picture? That’s actually the track of one of those tornadoes. More specifically, it’s the tens of thousands of leveled trees left in its wake. The severity of the destruction isn’t too surprising when you learn that one of the tornadoes that struck the area that day was classified as an F-3, which has wind speeds between 158 and 206 MPH!
