2. Cass Scenic Railroad

This historic railroad was built in 1901 to haul timber to the mill in Cass. Now it's a scenic railroad that takes passengers to the old logging camp of Whittaker Station and to Bald Knob, the third highest point in West Virginia. 5. The Durbin Rocket

This train was built in 1910 and is powered by a rare steam locomotive, Old #3. This engine, with its combination of open and closed cars, is perfect for families with smaller children. 6. The Cheat Mountain Salamander
