Built in 1852 in Philippi, Barbour County, the historic covered bridge spans 285 feet and is the oldest covered bridge in West Virginia. After a fire that nearly destroyed the covered bridge, it was restored and reopened to much fanfare in 1991. It's truly one of the most remarkable West Virginia covered bridges. 2. Locust Creek Covered Bridge - Hillsboro

Measuring just 113 feet long and nearly 14 feet wide, Locust Creek Covered Bridge, one of the most historic places in West Virginia, first opened in 1870. Looking for "covered bridges near me?" Another of the most beautiful sights in West Virginia, the Laurel Creek Covered Bridge was built in 1912. It holds the distinction as the shortest covered bridge in West Virginia, at 24.5 feet long and 13 feet wide. Traffic still travels over the restored bridge. Indian Creek Covered Bridge, which spans 48 feet long, was built in 1903. Considered the most photographed covered bridge in West Virginia, the historic structure underwent a restoration process in the early 2000s. Today, it's popular with photographers and pedestrians.
