Now that summer is in full swing, and the warm weather beckons you outdoor lovers to plan your next adventure, here is one place that you should add to the list.
For a truly wild adventure on the water, Cheat River Outfitters offers a Class V whitewater run along a 13-mile span on the Cheat Canyon area of the Cheat River.
It is a white water rafting experience for folks who really want to ride the wild rapids of the Cheat River. However, they also offer less extreme runs.
Along the Cheat Narrows, you can ride along on Class II and III rapids. Both offer a smoother ride along the river, with Class I being the most calm.
There are two areas in which to take your rafting journeys other than the Cheat: The Upper Youghigheny, which offers the most extreme Class V rapids, and the special dam releases along the Savage River and the North Branch of the Potomac River.
Cheat River Outfitters offers also offers paintball, rock climbing, rock jumping and swimming, not to mention picnics by the riverside.
