Everyone knows that West Virginia is home to some very cool small towns, like Fayetteville and Lewisburg . However, there are many more fascinating little towns that you may not know about. Here are a few.
1. Glenville
This little town has the
only traffic light in Gilmer County. It's home to Glenville State College, many historic buildings, and some great dining.
2. Middleway
Middlway is a fascinating little town with a cool

3. Marlinton
Marlinton has many historic buildings like the Marlinton Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad Station, Marlinton Opera House, Pocahontas County Courthouse and Jail, and Pocahontas Times Print Shop. Located near Marlinton is Droop Mountain Battlefield.
4. St Marys
This is one of the few towns in the country where trains share the same road as cars. Make sure to visit
Smith Candies while you are there.
5. Pickens
Pickens hosts the Maple Syrup festival every year during the 3rd full weekend in March.
6. Spencer
Spencer is home to the
Robey Theatre , which is the oldest continuously operating movie theater in the United States. You can still see movies there!
7. Parsons
The county seat of Tucker County came back to life after nearly being destroyed by the 1985 flood. It has several beautiful historic buildings, and it's a favorite stop for people seeking outdoor adventure on the nearby Cheat River.
8. Hinton
This
railroad town has wonderful historic buildings and great dining.
9. Clendenin
This historic town has beautiful architecture and is the home of the first
Mothman sighting.
10. Grantsville
The county seat of Calhoun County is home to Wayne Underwood Park, which includes a .25 mile long walking trail, and hosts the annual West Virginia Wood Festival.
