West Virginia is full of beautiful mountains with incredible views (there’s a reason it’s nicknamed the Mountain State), but there is one mountain that stands out from the rest. Not only is Spruce Mountain the tallest mountain in West Virginia, but it’s also the highest ridge of the Allegheny Mountains. The drive to the top is one of the most scenic in the state, and the views from the summit are absolutely mesmerizing.
After making the climb to the top of West Virginia’s highest mountain, and before summer is over, be sure to take a drive down one of these scenic byways in West Virginia for a truly picture-perfect day, too.
