One of the fundamental parts of a child’s education is science. We all grow up with an ever-expanding understanding of how the universe works, from the smallest microbe to the largest star. But sitting in a classroom listening to a lecture won’t do very much to spark a child’s interest — a hands-on approach will. That is why this science center in Morgantown exists, and it is also why you need to take the family there today.
The SPARK Imagination and Science Center, located in Morgantown, is an interactive center that will excite your children's imagination and spark their curiosity at the same time.
This center is designed to teach kids about science in a fun and exciting way. It is filled with several exhibits that focus on various aspects of science.
In the Space Weather Exhibit, kids are taught that there is actually weather in space and shows them how it works through several means, such as magnets and a plasma ball.
Kids will also have a chance to don the center's Magnetospheric Multiscale Mission Virtual Reality Goggles, which takes kids on a journey through space and even a pays a visit to the MMS satellite.
Another exhibit is the Nano exhibit, which teaches kids about the technology that goes into making materials and objects a billionth of a meter in size.
Other exhibits include Tot-n-Toddle, Engineer It, Grow up Strong and the Mary McIntosh Davis Imagination Station. The SPARK Imagination and Science Center is located at 5000 Greenbag Rd., Ste. G in Morgantown. They are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
