Looking for a delicious, historic dining adventure? There’s an award-winning restaurant housed in a 163-year-old mansion tucked away in Preston County, in the town of Kingwood, that just might fit the bill!
Summer, winter, spring, or fall, the Preston County Inn stands waiting to welcome you, just as it has stood presiding over the town of Kingwood since 1857.
It was constructed by James Brown, a prominent figure in Kingwood in the Civil War era, for his bride. Tragically, she died of smallpox a short year after they were married, and Brown turned the house into a shrine honoring her memory.
But now, and for the last eight decades or so, the house has been transformed into an award-winning restaurant that offers fine dining to the residents of and visitors to Preston County.
And when we say "award-winning," we're not kidding: the Preston County Inn has received over a hundred awards and designations from around the state, including from Taste of Morgantown, the Preston County Buckwheat Festival, the WBOY Restaurant Road Show. It's also been voted as one of the top 101 places to eat in all of West Virginia.

Boasting three formal dining rooms plus a wrap-around patio with outdoor seating, a full service kitchen, and, at times, a bottomless bar, the Preston County Inn provides its customers with plenty of space and options for an enjoyable, relaxing, delicious dining experience.
From a taco, salad, and potato bar to soup and sandwiches to plates piled high with ribs, steak, or fish, you'll find plenty of delicious menu options no matter what you're hungry for.
And while the Preston County Inn is most famous for their delicious food, it's also a bed and breakfast, and you can book a stay in one of their quaint rooms.
