Fall is a favorite season for many here in West Virginia, and for good reason. The mountains and valleys light up each autumn with brilliant flames of red, orange, and yellow. Thankfully, there are many ways for us to enjoy this spectacular show of color, from scenic drives to long hikes through deep forests to a relaxing ride on a scenic railroad.

Beginning at Wappocomo Station in Romney, West Virginia, this rail ride takes you through historic farming country, past Eagle Rock, and into the stunning area known as "The Trough."

All throughout the ride, you can expect beautiful views of some of the prettiest country around. Trough Trips are available almost every day in October, with trips starting at 1:00 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. or 2:30 p.m. on weekends.
