Oglebay Park is a self-supporting public municipal park located in Wheeling, West Virginia. The park totals 1,650 acres and contains historical buildings, golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, gardens, a nature center, a zoo, and more. The park is named after Earl W. Oglebay, who deeded his estate, Waddington Farms, to the city of Wheeling for the express purpose of public recreation.
One of the best places to spend a day in West Virginia is at the Oglebay Park in Wheeling.
There's a lodge and cottages here if you'd like to stay for a while, but you can also drop in just for the day and enjoy various activities around the park.
There's trick-or-treating for the children, and a special chance to see the zoo after dark. Some animals, like the rare red panda, are more active at night, so the evening events are a unique opportunity to see them up and about.
Starting November 11th and into January, the park and zoo will be full of colorful lights for the holidays.
Oglebay Resort & Conference Center is located at 465 Lodge Drive, Wheeling, WV 26003. You can make reservations or find out more by calling 877-436-1797, or visit their website.
