The marketplace is an old concept: a single building, or area of town, where people could go for food, groceries or any other goods they might need. Now, Huntington has a new food market that you must visit.
The Market is a new marketplace in downtown Huntington with unique food choices and a few other shops.

This location was a nightclub for many years before closing down. Once that occurred, a plan was set in motion to revitalize not just the location, but also 3 adjacent ones as well.

The building on the east side of the market was demolished and is being repurposed as an outdoor patio with tables and decorated with criss-crossing lights over the open space for nighttime dining. The three abandoned buildings on the west end of The Market have become two new restaurants (Charlies Granger's and Peace, Love & Donuts), which are accessible both from the street and inside The Market itself.
Butter It Up! is a restaurant that serves farm fresh food, including breakfast, lunch and various coffees. Selections include omelettes, salads, sandwiches, subs, and flatbread. They even have burgers with three choices of meat: beef, elk and camel (yes, you read that last one correctly).

Next to Butter it Up! you will find The Fuel Counter, which also serves food with farm fresh ingredients. You will find a menu that uses a build-your-own concept, with the base choices being a salad, pizza or sandwich. From there, you determine the ingredients to include in your order.

On the mezzanine level, you will find a an authentic Greek restaurant called Navarino Bay.

Navarino Bay is owned by members of the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church, who have hosted the annual Greekfest in Huntington for more than three decades. They have a lunch and dinner menu that offers authentic northern Mediterranean cuisine with a modern twist, such as rack of lamb, beef soulvlaki and gyros.

If you are ready for a little dessert after your meal, try Austin's Homemade Ice Cream. They offer 20 flavors of Ice cream served in a cup, cone, as a sundae (with 13 toppings), as a milkshake and by the pint or quart. They also serve specialty sundaes and a few sugar free items, as well.

Other businesses in The Market include a Native American Taco counter (not yet open), Wildflower Gift Gallery, Bottled Up (a wine and beer shop), and The Hip Eagle clothing boutique. The Market is located at 809 3rd Ave. in Huntington.
