Kruger Street Toy And Train Museum In West Virginia Will Make You Feel Like A Kid Again

Nothing beats a room full of toys from the era in which you grew up to make you feel like a kid again – except a whole building of toys! Hundreds of thousands of toys and trains can be found at the Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum in Wheeling and it’s worth a day trip just to step back in time.

Not only will you get to see toys from your childhood (and likely your parents' childhood!), you'll also get to play with many of the interactive exhibits.

That's a pretty big deal for the young — and the young at heart! When was the last time you played Pac-Man on a pinball machine!

Kruger Street has a little something for everyone. There is a doll room, a miniatures room, a game room, a train room and more!

The doll house and doll collection will take you back to the past with a variety of doll houses from bygone eras.

And the building itself is a bit of a museum even without the trains. What better place for a toy and train museum than a a classic former public school?!

As you can imagine, the museum showcases a variety of trains, including running sets that you can enjoy seeing busily making their way around their tracks. Each May, for National Train Day, they put the G-scale trains and tracks outside (weather permitting) for some outdoor fun.

But Kruger Street includes other indoor fun as well. A variety of interactive exhibits will keep you (and the kids) busy for hours with toy sets from all generations, like this 90s Rokenboken.

Kruger Street Toy & Train Museum is located at 144 Kruger St., Wheeling, WV 26003 and features an extensive collection of toys from bygone eras. It’s open 7 days a week from Memorial Day through December 31 with hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. From January 2 through Memorial Day, it’s open 3 days a week with hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
