I write like it's my job - because it is! I have a Master's in English and love words: crossword puzzles, Scrabble games, Wordle, and, of course, good, old-fashioned books.
I'm a writer and editor at OnlyInYourState, and a contributing writer at Cincinnati Magazine. I love the Great Outdoors and am endlessly awestruck by this beautiful country of ours. Coffee keeps me going, yoga keeps me sane, my kids keep me grounded, and my writing keeps me inspired.
As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Nestled in the mountains of the Potomac Highlands along the banks of the Lost River, the Inn at Lost River has welcomed guests to the valleys of West Virginia for nearly 30 years. Housed in an 1880s Folk Victorian Farmhouse with handsome woodwork and original pine floors, The Inn at Lost River is an impossibly charming bed and breakfast in the heart of the Mountain State. It’s also a world unto itself, its sprawling grounds containing an original smokehouse and historic general store, the latter of which has long been a place for folks to gather and congregate. In truth, The Inn at Lost River is not simply a destination in the wondrous wilds of West Virginia; it’s the community cornerstone of a small and humble town in the Mountain State.
