The Historic Railroad Town In West Virginia Everyone Should Visit At Least Once

The city of Hinton, West Virginia has a population of just 2,676, but it’s packed with history and things to do.
Hinton is a small city in Summers County, West Virginia.
More than 200 historic buildings are located in Hinton's downtown area.
Among the historic buildings is the The Summers County Courthouse, built in 1875.
The town built up around the railroad when trains were the most common form of transportation.
You can still reach Hinton by way of an Amtrack Station.
Hinton has a museum that's dedicated to railroad history.

Another historic building that's worth a visit is The Ritz Theatre.

Even though it's a chain, visitors say this DQ serves up an authentic West Virginia hot dog, with a great view of the New River. Address: WV-3, Hinton, WV.
If you want to get even closer to nature, visit the Bluestone State Park.
This rugged state park near Hinton has hiking and water activities for nature lovers. You can also camp or rent cabins in the park.
