This picturesque mill in West Virginia makes for the perfect day trip destination. More than just a pretty face, this mill is fully operational. With its rushing waters, post-card perfect scenery, and unique history, it’s easy fall in love with Glade Creek Grist Mill.
Glade Creek Grist Mill is a beautiful and fully-functional mill located in Babcock State Park. This gorgeous natural space offers 4,127 acres of rhododendron-lined paths and stunning streams. It’s also home to a working mill that looks almost too good to be real.
This mill is a completely operational replica of the original Cooper’s Mill, which is also located nearby. It was completed in 1976 and is actually composed of pieces of three other historic mills across the state. The main structure of the Glade Creek Grist Mill is made up of parts of the Stone Creek Grist Mill, while the water wheel and other parts come from the Onego Grist Mill and the Spring Run Grist Mill. All of the older mills date back to the 1800s.
