Fourth Avenue in Huntington, known as the Old Main Corridor, stretches west along the Ohio River from Marshall University’s main campus. It is the heart of downtown Huntington. Along the corridor, you can basically find any type of food you can imagine.
Fourth Avenue in Huntington, a.k.a. The Old Main Corridor, is named so because it connects Marshall University's administrative building, known as "Old Main" because it was the first part of the university ever built (1837), to downtown. Along the way, you have plenty of food choices to satisfy your appetite.
The Fourth Avenue Rocco's has a smaller selection, but you can still get spaghetti, Chicken Parmesan, Manicotti (pictured below), Chicken Alfredo and a generous selection of sandwiches.
One of several restaurants in the region, and one of two in Huntington alone, Rio is a great place for an authentic Mexican experience. Try the arroz con pollo or the shrimp fajitas.
During the day, the restaurant offers a buffet to try out their most popular dishes, and in the evening, you can order something more specific on their menu. They have many flavorful dishes comprised of chicken and surprisingly tasty selections of goat.
Shangri-La Chinese Restaurant is another fantastic choice. This newly-opened restaurant offers both authentic Szechuan food and American Style Chinese Food.
You can find some great authentic selections, such as Gele Mountain spicy chicken, sliced pork in chili oil, dry-fried duck, and lamb with cumin. If you want to go more traditional, the American style selections gives you plenty of dishes to choose from.
