Huntington, West Virginia, has unveiled a Private Outdoor Designated Area (PODA) for drinking alcoholic beverages purchased by licensed local businesses as you stroll through certain areas in the heart of downtown. While not for everyone, this innovative initiative (the first of its kind in West Virginia) aims to provide a serene green space for residents and visitors alike to relax, rejuvenate, stretch their legs, and enjoy a drink as they explore this beautiful city.

Nestled within the vibrant core of Huntington, this PODA adds an exciting new way to enjoy the city and an adult beverage legally AND responsibly.

On Thursdays and Fridays from 5-11 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. (in season), you can snag a designated PODA to-go cup (a clear cup with the PODA logo) from any number of local suppliers, get them to fill it with your favorite beverage, and head out to explore the downtown with your friends after dinner or before an event.
