Thanks to Matador Network, the small town of Fayetteville, West Virginia was just named one of America’s Coolest Towns! While most websites will use things like statistics to determine which locations are the best, this particular website went about things a bit differently. Instead of looking at numbers, the site spoke to travelers and residents to figure out which places around the country offer the best small town vibes.
Recognized for being the outdoor capital of the east, this Fayette County gem is one you won’t want to miss.
Just an hour outside of the city of Charleston, the small town of Fayetteville has a population of under 3,000 residents.
One of the most scenic towns you'll ever visit, the area attracts adventurers of all kinds. From whitewater rafters to rock climbing, this place is every explorer's paradise.
Those who are truly looking to experience the town in a unique way can experience a walking tour of the New River Bridge. Explorers can venture out onto the catwalk and if they're brave enough... they'll even look down!
This year the incredible Bridge Day for 2017 will take place on October 21st. Base jumpers from all over the world travel to Fayetteville to enjoy a legal jump off of the New River Gorge Bridge! Onlookers can enjoy seeing base jumpers lunging off of the bridge, a sight that you'll never forget. The thrilling event is one that fully captures why people love coming to this West Virginia town - you get to enjoy an amazing small town feel all while having unforgettable adventures right at your finger tips!
