5 Small West Virginia Towns With An Extra Big Dose Of Christmas Spirit
There’s just something special about Christmas in West Virginia. Maybe it’s the winter weather that often starts in December or the small town feel of so many of West Virginia’s communities. Maybe it’s the plethora of evergreen forests or mountain slopes. Whatever it is…it lends an extra dose of festiveness to the holidays in the Mountain State. Here are five towns that seem to even have a little extra dose of that Christmas spirit.

A West Virginia Christmas list without St. Albans is hardly complete. From the St. Albans Festival of Lights and the Christmas Historic Homes Tour to the Christmas Parade and the Candle Lighting Ceremony (which was canceled for 2020)...these are just a few of the things that make St. Albans a wonderful spot to visit at Christmas time.

Logan carries the distinction of being the home of Chief Logan State Park, one of the most visited sites in the West Virginia state park system. This is largely due to their popular "Christmas In The Park" holiday display. Have you been through it yet this year?

In early December, this small town also hosts a yearly Christmas parade and tree lighting ceremony.

Hampshire County is full of Christmas spirit. Visit Central Hampshire Park to enjoy their huge Christmas tree and festive light display.

Point Pleasant goes all out for Christmas, with two impressive light displays. You can drive through the display at West Virginia Farm Museum and the one at Krodel Park, located within minutes of each other and both quite festive.
Have you been to any of these festive Christmas towns before? Or how about these ones? What does your community do to celebrate or decorate for the holidays?
