Nostalgia is a wonderful emotion that brings back fond memories from days gone by. If you grew up in central or southern West Virginia, then chances are good that if you didn’t go to Camden Park with your family, then you took at least one day trip with your school or church group. And this applies to the young and not-so-young (anymore) alike – since this family amusement park opened more than a hundred years ago.
It's one thing to go as a kid, but another thing entirely to enjoy the spoils of this vintage amusement park as an adult.
As an adult, you may find the park is just the perfect size for a day trip. From sentimental rides that have been around forever, to some updated thrills, two water rides, and more, you're sure to have a few wistful moments while enjoying the thrills of your childhood.

Camden Park's Big Dipper wooden roller coaster was built in 1958 to replace a former coaster and is still a feature attraction of the park.
Over the years, this family-owned amusement park (the only one of its kind in West Virginia) has become a mainstay in the lives of families all around the state. Part of the charm is absolutely the fact that many of the rides are still the same as Baby Boomers experienced as children.
Do you yearn ever yearn for the good old days? When was the last time you visited Camden Park? Was it decades ago?
