Wine is arguably the world’s most unique drink; not a passive, uniform beverage that comes off an assembly line, but a transformative drink that constantly evolves. Wine lives. It continues to grow and change long after the fermentation process is complete. Its mass appeal is undeniable. Maybe it is because of the time and care that goes into its creation that Batton Hollow Winery produces such fine selections, but whatever the reasons, one sip and the wine speaks for itself.
Batton Hollow Winery, located in Lost Creek, serves award winning fine wines on the weekends. Their tastings at the winery are accompanied by a tour of the facility as well.
The winery makes several varieties, including Classic Red, Rustic Red and Ruby Red, all of which are blended with different varieties of red grapes. Their selection of white wines include American Seyval Blanc, American Riesling, American Chardonel and American Vidal Blanc.
Their tastings are free, allowing visitors to sample their different varieties. Since wine is typically paired with certain foods, they have a menu with which to pair your drink so that you can truly have the full tasting experience.
They also have a shop at the winery, so that you may purchase a bottle of whatever wine you enjoyed the most. Aside from the shop, their wine is also served at 11 different restaurants around the state.
The winery creates a tasting experience, not just by pairing their wine with food, but also by fostering the social interaction that completes the experience for so many connoisseurs of this unique drink.
