Give a man a grill, and he can cook anything. At least that seems to be the edict of the owner of DEM 2 Brothers and a Grill, the best barbecue in Charleston.
DEM 2 Brothers and a Grill, located in Charleston, has been the BBQ staple of Virginia Street for five years. Locals call it "The best smelling corner in Charleston."
The restaurant's owner and head chef is former Tampa Bay Buccaneers Running Back Adrian "Bay" Wright. After his football career ended in 1987, he returned home to West Virginia to take care of his mother and decided to open a barbecue restaurant.
At first, he was just selling barbecue from a food truck before opening DEM 2 Brothers. Today, Wright owns two restaurants and two food trucks. And the crowds never stop coming thanks to consistent favorable ratings on Yelp.com.
Thanks to those Yelp ratings, The Food Network contacted Wright and decided to feature his restaurant on "Southern Fried Road Trip." DEM 2 Brothers has also been featured on Zagat.com and Leisure Group Travel Magazine.
The restaurant offers a variety of foods, including ribs, pulled pork, brisket, Italian sausage, collard greens, baked beans and sweet potato casserole. DEM 2 Brothers and a Grill is located at 423 Virginia Street West in Charleston.
