All aboard! The Autumn Colors Express Train is gearing up for its annual fall foliage train ride through West Virginia's stunning New River Gorge.
The historic 60-year-old train will take passengers between Huntington and Vinton on a magnificent trip filled with small-town charm and autumn's brightest colors.
The trips run from Thursday through Sunday, and boarding begins promptly at 7:00 a.m. The train will leave the Chesapeake & Ohio railway station in downtown Huntington at 8:00 a.m., making its way towards Hinton.
As you journey through the heart of the New River Gorge, you'll want to keep your eyes on the passing scenery. Points of interest include Kanawha Falls, Hawk’s Nest Dam, the town of Thurmond, and lastly, Hinton.
Upon arrival in Hinton, passengers are invited to explore all that the historic town has to offer. Arriving at 11:30 a.m. and departing at 3:00, the schedule allows plenty of time for lunch and sightseeing.
