In West Virginia, adventure parks are definitely the exception and not the rule. Since these kinds of unique and insanely fun parks are few and far between, you should definitely take advantage of them whenever you can.
Grand Vue is a special kind of park. Whereas a typical park is generally comprised of hiking trails leading to great views, waterfalls, or other geologically interesting features, this park focuses on adventure, providing activities that nature alone cannot.
There are a number of adventures throughout the park, including an aerial rope course, a zipline canopy tour, a rappelling wall, climbing tower, giant swing and European trampoline.
You'll have an adventure unlike any other that will get your adrenaline pumping with heavy doses of fun and excitement.
You can ascend the climbing tower for a quick warm-up, getting yourself acquainted with the type of adventures that the park has to offer.
However, one of the park's premiere climbing adventures comes when you enter the Aerial Rope Course, in which you travel a series of platforms connected by thick ropes woven in a variety of configurations. It is not unlike climbing the multiple masts of a 19th century ship.
If you want an even greater adventure, the zipline canopy tours are a good bet. Upon arrival, you will be fitted with a safety harness so you can zip along the lines above the scenic park. This is probably the closest any person can come to the sensation of flying while still remaining safely tethered along a set course.
Another fun activity is the Mega Jump. Have you ever thought that it would be exciting to jump from a high distance if you knew you would suffer no injury when you landed? Well, now you can. With the addition of safety tethers, you can leap from this high tower and land softly and safely on the ground below. Check out the video below to experience the jump from a first-person perspective.

Best of all, the adventure doesn't have to be relegated to a single day. Grand Vue offers many accommodations for visitors to the park, including both traditional and deluxe cabins, both of which sleep 12 people; the Eagle House, which has multiple rooms, a kitchen, and nine beds; and treetop villas, which are essentially elevated cabins in the woods.
If you are looking for adventure, you will find all you need and more at Grand Vue Park. The park is located at 250 Trail Dr. in Moundsville.
