This stunning waterfall in Athens, which is about an hour and 15 minutes southwest of the city of Lewisburg, is located within the Brush Creek Nature Preserve. Follow a level, wide trail for 1/4 mile to reach the massive Brush Creek Falls. A path a few steps beyond the fenced area leads down to the rocky bank at the base of the falls.

It can be found another 1.5 level miles past the Brush Creek Falls and along the way you'll see many smaller cascades. The water level in White Oak Creek Falls can fluctuate dramatically; sometimes, this falls looks like a roaring cascade from a tropical rainforest, but at other times it's a mere trickle.

Yes, there is a waterfall near the Charleston area, located only about a 40-mile drive southwest of the city called Cathedral Falls. Cathedral Falls is definitely one of the most beautiful and best waterfall hikes in West Virginia.
