The century-old abandoned lime kilns are the highlight of this hike. The stone ruins tower up to 20 feet high and are moss-covered. Built in the 1800s, they were abandoned by the 1930s.
Be sure to take a peek inside when you explore this trail. Fascinating historic artifacts and logging and liming artifacts still remain. Be sure to bring a camera, as well!
