In a world where it’s all too easy to take our loved ones for granted, and to forget the things that truly matter, sometimes it’s good to gather together as a community and celebrate our lives. There’s a water lantern festival coming soon to Utah, where you can do just that. Take a look:
The Water Lantern Festival is an event where you can take a moment from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life to examine what's most important to you.
The festival starts in the evening, with live music and community activities. Bring a picnic, or grab something to eat from one of the food truck vendors. Bring your friends and family along for this special event.
Long before sunset, you'll create your own, individualized lantern. Write and draw whatever you want on it - hopes and dreams, the names of loved ones whom you want to remember, or statements that express your gratitude and joy.
As the sun sets, you'll release your lantern into the water and watch it float away. Don't worry - after the festival, workers will make sure that every lantern is gathered up, along with any trash along the waterway. Lanterns are made of wood and rice paper, so they're also environmentally friendly.
The Water Lantern Festival is a place where thousands of members of the community all come together in an expression of hope, joy, and love. You'll love the peaceful feeling you'll experience on this special night.
