Spend The Day At This Hot Air Balloon Festival In Washington For A Uniquely Colorful Experience
How do you celebrate fall in Washington? Whether you always head to the fair or prefer to pick your own apples, you’ve probably got your own autumn traditions. And if you live anywhere near Walla Walla, hopefully one of those traditions includes the annual balloon festival.

This year's dates are October 17-21.

The festival wouldn't be possible without local generosity.

But you'll have to be an early riser -- the flight time is 7:15 a.m., with the exception of one 4 p.m. launch on Saturday.

On the first day of the festival, children will have the chance to get in a basket of a balloon and float off the ground.

And the best part is, if you go, you'll get to spend a few days in Walla Walla, which is quickly becoming one of our top tourist cities.

Street parking is available, but it's limited, so you'll want to get there early. Bring blankets and chairs and leave your pets at home (the high pitched sounds the balloon burners make will hurt their ears).
You won’t want to miss the Walla Walla Balloon Stampede. And once it’s over, explore the city and see why Walla Walla was named one of the best places to visit in 2018.
