Washingtonians are spoiled when it comes to outdoor dining―and we know it. Our big cities and small towns all seem to have have the most excellent patios, terraces and rooftops perfect for dining al fresco. And since we enjoy all four seasons in our state, patio season is a special (and brief) time.
You’d be reading all day if we listed every great option for outdoor dining in Washington, and opinions will vary about which restaurants are the best. But if you want a wonderful outdoor experience and a delicious meal, these spots won’t be disappointing.
No matter where you sit at The Pink Door, you’ll enjoy outstanding Italian inspired dishes using fresh local ingredients, mainly from Pike Place Market (they’re located in the Post Alley). But during the summer, the restaurant patio offers outdoor dining with a view of the waterfront and Puget Sound.
Twigs Bistro & Martini Bar originated in Spokane, and now they have locations all across the Pacific Northwest. Their Wandermere location in North Spokane has a beautiful patio that sits right on a manmade pond, and thanks to the outdoor heaters, you can enjoy it from early spring to late fall.
As if the Terra Blanca Winery wasn’t amazing enough, they recently partnered with Twigs Bistro and Martini Bar to create a magical dining experience with chateau-inspired cuisine. Dine on tapas, salads and brick oven pizzas while enjoying views of the Red Mountain region from the patio.
The Social Bar and Grill on Dock Street overlooks the Thea Foss waterway, and the patio is perfectly sized. The menu includes tasty shareables like calamari and Hood Canal oysters.
You certainly wouldn’t expect to find a peaceful patio in the heart of Seattle’s busy Belltown neighborhood. But La Fontana Siciliana’s courtyard will make you feel like you’ve been transported to Sicily itself. The food will, too!
The Southfork Public House in the heart of Cougar Country has scrumptious sandwiches and burgers, an impressive beer lineup and the perfect patio, which occasionally sees the likes of stars like Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum.
10. Waterfront Pizza, Port Townsend

What could be better than delicious pizza in Port Townsend, you might ask? Delicious pizza enjoyed on a casual patio. Waterfront Pizza is a longtime favorite of both locals and visitors.
Leavenworth itself is magical, and Munchen Haus has an outdoor beer garden that’s family-friendly and fun. The atmosphere alone makes it worth the stop, but the German sausages are genuinely good.
