Built in 1935 by dairy merchant Paul E. Newport, it was designed to make dairy products more appealing to young people. Each building cost $3,500 to make.

The milk bottle served as a secondhand shop until 1986, when it was converted into a restaurant.

The fire started at the rear of either the Milk Bottle or Ferguson’s Cafe next door and ignited a natural gas line between the buildings. Thanks to local firefighters, the buildings were saved, and the owners were even able to save most of the old photos of the Milk Bottle that were hanging inside.
