Most People Have No Idea This Unique Park In Washington Exists
You’ll find the small, quiet community of Granger in Washington’s Yakima Valley. Founded in 1902, this agricultural town is best known for its farms and being near the Teapot Dome Gas Station, a national historic site and a popular roadside attraction. But Granger is also home to Hisey Park, better known as the Hisey Dinosaur Park.

The dinosaur statues were originally used as a means of attracting tourists to the Granger area. The first dinosaur was finished in 1994, and the people of Granger have built over 30 sculptures since.

Dinosaurs can be found at every corner of the park and even across the town of Granger. Children of all ages enjoy them. There used to be a volcano toilet at the park, but it has apparently been shut down (though the volcano is still standing).

Visitors to this park can get creative with their dino selfies. Some of the statues are surprisingly realistic, so you’ll have plenty of photo ops that will freak out your friends.

The first Saturday of June is always "Dino-N-A-Day" at the Hisey Dinosaur Park. Visitors are encouraged to help restore the dinosaurs, and sometimes new sculptures are constructed.

Hisey Dinosaur Park is located at 505 Main Street in Granger. It’s open all year and free to explore.
This is definitely one of the more unique and lesser known parks in Washington. We’ve also got a great zoological park that many people don’t know about.
