There’s no doubt that Washington is an incredibly beautiful place. You’ll find everything from rural landscapes to shimmering city skylines (and plenty of mountains and beaches) within our borders. But we happen to think these 11 spots are so enchanting, every Washingtonian should see them in person at least once.
Rest assured, there is absolutely nothing disappointing about this place. This state park on the Long Beach Peninsula is breathtaking, and the North Head Lighthouse is perfect for photo ops.
Any spot that sits nestled in the Columbia River Gorge is bound to be beautiful. But this park and its scenic hiking trails, not to mention its signature rock, is truly an incredible place.

Washington is full of beautiful parks and gardens, but Manito Park really is in a league of its own. Located in the quiet South Hill neighborhood, it's got five gardens, a conservatory and duck pond.

If you don't ask yourself if you're really still in the city at least three times, you haven't been at Discovery Park long enough. This huge natural recreation area is incredible.
Washington has its very own temperate rainforest, which proves that our state has the most diverse scenery in the PNW (and possibly the country). The Hoh gets about 14 feet of rain a year, which contributes to its mystical look.

The Long Beach peninsula is a nice, laid back spot to get away from it all. You won't find a prettier place than the beach at sunset.
Paradise is the most popular spot in Mt. Rainier National Park, and it's easy to see why. While the park is open all year, we recommend going in late spring or early summer when wildflowers are abundant.

Located in Clallam County, this is one of the most incredible spots to see on the Olympic Peninsula (and that's saying a lot). You'll have to take a short hike to reach it, but most of it is boardwalked.
Whether you take a drive down Highway 14 or catch a view of the gorge from somewhere else (like the Gorge Amphitheater, for example) it's a sight that every Washingtonian should see as much as possible.
