No matter which part of Washington you call home, summertime is amazing — that’s the beauty of living in a state that truly experiences all four seasons. That being said, there are a few spots that feel especially magical during the sunnier months. These are seven of them.
Whidbey Island is a picturesque and all-around pleasant place. But the little waterfront town of Langley is especially magical on a warm summer day, when patio dining and beach walks beckon.
Lively is not a word most would use to describe this little mountain town, but between the annual Pioneer Days event in early July, the summer concerts at Suncadia, and the abundance of outdoor adventures in the area, that's exactly what it becomes when the weather warms up.

Taking the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island is somewhat of a rite of passage for Washingtonians. And since the walkable downtown area has a lot of outdoor amenities, it's best to go in the summer.

Obviously, summer is the best time to enjoy water sports at lakeside lounging in Chelan. But the classic car shows, arts festivals, wine walks, and the Chelan Evening Farmers Market make spending time in town worthwhile as well.
