This One Small Washington Town Has More Outdoor Attractions Than Any Other Place In The State
Washington is a total nature lover’s paradise. Even our urban areas have plenty of outdoor adventures that are just a short drive away. But when it comes to the sheer number of outdoor attractions located within a short driving distance from town, the small city of Port Angeles just might be the winner.

In fact, the Visitor Center for Olympic National Park is here.

The 3.2 mile trail offers breathtaking views, wildlife, and wildflowers (if you time your trek right).

Not only is it an easy path, it's short -- just over half a mile "round trip."

Hollywood Beach (pictured here) is located by the City Pier, and you're just a few minutes away from the Salt Creek Recreation Area, Shi Shi Beach, Rialto Beach, and all the beaches near La Push.

The Olympic Discovery Trail, which is located along the waterfront, has an "Adventure Trail" offshoot for the adventurous mountain biker. You'll also find plenty of bikers on the road all over the city.

The nearby Elwha River is also a popular fishing spot, and Port Angeles' access to the Strait of Juan de Fuca and Pacific Ocean allows for some of the best recreational shellfishing.

This is the appropriately named Dream Playground, a popular place for little locals.
We’re so lucky to live in a state with so many amazing outdoor activities and such gorgeous natural scenery, In fact, our second largest city’s motto is “near nature, near perfect.”
