As local travel experts, we know what travelers are looking for when it comes to finding the perfect accommodations for their next trip. To compile our lists, we scour the internet to find properties with excellent ratings and reviews, desirable amenities, nearby attractions, and that something special that makes a destination worthy of traveling for.
Port Townsend is a beautiful, charming, beloved treasure. Steeped in local history and full of world-class dining, unique shops, miles of beaches, and a Victorian vibe, it’s no wonder so many Washingtonians see it as the ideal weekend getaway destination.
The Belmont is a historic Victorian-style hotel that sits right on the water in the heart of town. And if you want an authentic Port Townsend experience, we highly recommend a stay here.
The Belmont was constructed in 1889 by George Sterming, who had a lifelong dream of owning such a place.
That being said, the property still maintains its historic charms. The modern charms simply include WiFi and other conveniences. One thing the rooms don't have is TVs, ensuring a nice, quiet stay.
Of course, as with most older properties, especially in Port Townsend, there are rumors that the hotel is haunted.
However, if that's true, the spirits are both subtle and friendly. Unlike a few of the other hotels in town, no one seems to have experienced anything too intense.
The rooms at The Belmont range from cozy King rooms to larger rooms with lofts.
