Thankfully, the days of Prohibition in the U.S. are over. That being said, we seem to have embraced the idea of the speakeasy, the old hidden venue where bootleg liquor was served. And since you won’t have to worry about being arrested or fined for going (unless you drink entirely too much, but that’s another story), they’re a lot more fun to visit these days.

The Alley in West Seattle is a great example of a beautiful speakeasy with impeccably crafted cocktails … but first, you’ll have to find it.

Not only will you have to search for the door to get to the speakeasy, you'll also have to hunt for the door to get into the speakeasy itself. We'll give you a hint: you're looking at it right now.
Once you finally discover how to open the "lockers," you'll find yourself in a swanky, sultry space.

The bar is nice and cozy, and it's decidedly upscale. It's not what you'd expect to find in the back of a casual mom & pop restaurant.
The Alley opened in 2018, when Jade Nguyen and local bar specialist Tony Larson designed it.

As for food, you'll mainly find small bites on the menu, like olives and truffle fries.

But if you're really hungry, you can order some delicious chicken wings or shrimp egg rolls. They even serve shrimp chips and caviar.
The Alley is open Thursday - Sunday from 5 p.m. until the last cocktail has been crafted (usually around midnight).
