Washington’s iconic 59er diner sits just 15 miles outside of the Bavarian village of Leavenworth, but it feels like it’s in the middle of nowhere… or better yet, like a relic from the past has traveled through time to present you with a delicious burger and shake. This is a good old-fashioned 1950s-themed eatery, and it’s truly reminiscent of a simpler time. Stop by and see what the hype is about — don’t worry, poodle skirts and saddle shoes are optional.
The 59er Diner is located on US-2 in between Leavenworth and Lake Wenatchee.
The 59er Diner briefly opened a location in Cashmere. Unfortunately, it didn't survive the turbulence of 2020. Luckily, the original location has never looked better.
That's probably because the farm fresh eggs come from the on-site chicken, most of the vegetables come from the on-site garden or local farmers, and everything is made to order.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day here, but you can also enjoy a burger, a sandwich, or one of the special entrees, known as Flo's Favorites.
However, whether you order a hearty breakfast or a healthy lunch, we highly recommend washing it down with a world famous milkshake. This is one place that always gets them right.
As if the diner wasn't fantastic enough, the property even has several comfortable cabins you can rent for a night or two.
They aren't all 50s themed like the Big Bopper Bungalow (pictured here), but they are all cozy, comfortable, and reasonably priced.
If you’re planning a trip to Leavenworth or Wenatchee State Park this year, bring the family to the 59er Diner. This is one local spot we hope stays around for a long time.
